Woman 236 Vase by Karina Smagulova

About the Item

Woman 236 Vase by Karina Smagulova One of a Kind. Dimensions: Ø 29 x H 20 cm. Materials: Terracotta and grey stoneware. With an Armenian and Kazakhstan heritage, Karina Smagulova was born in Greece in 1995 and graduated with a diploma in Architecture from University of Patras. Working in a diverse range of disciplines, from sculpture to design, Karina often explores curved lines and asymmetry to create spaces for reflection. Her sculptural work usually references the woman’s body, homage to the lineage of women who preceded her. Working with clay in a variety of handbuilding techniques, she balances asymmetrical forms in the three dimensional world. The viewer is invited to follow the curves and connect with the architectural elements of its space through movement. Karina Smagulova lives and works in London, UK.
