Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Overlay Amber Glass Decanter Whiskey Scotch Bottle

About the Item

Antique early 20th century Art Nouveau amber glass bottle decanter with engraved sterling silver overlay. Probably made by La Pierre in New York. It has Le Pierre's traditional cylindrical form with sloping shoulder and upward tapering neck. Most of these bottles are marked on the stoppers - this stopper is missing. A bit of the cork is still inside. On front is a shield cartouche with a monogram (it looks like GFS). The rest of the bottle has a wheat, leaf and vine motif. I love this design for its simple elegance. The sterling is overlay is thick and in great condition other than tarnish at the top and a small scratch into a vine near the neck.
