Early 20th Century French Riveted Iron Wine Cage or Wine Cellar for 200 Bottles

About

Originally used in a French wine cellar, this riveted iron wine cage from the early twentieth century holds up to 200 bottles and is painted in a dark green. The lock plate that slides over the ring where a padlock can be secured is marked Fer Rigide Bte 800G, or Rigid iron in English. Smaller in scale than the Industrial sized wine cages used by restaurants in France, this piece would be ideal for the home collection of a wine connoisseur or could inspire an aficionado into starting his or her own collection, circa 1930.
