Friedrich Adler Osiris Pair Isis Jugendstil Pewter Wine Goblets Circa 1900
About the Item
A pair German Osiris Jugendstil Isis pewter wine goblets designed by renowned artist, designer and academic Friedrich Adler (German, 1878-1942) for Walter Scherf and Co and dating from around 1900. The goblets have a flat wide round foot with a hollowed narrow column shaped lower body with a wider rounded open shaped top. The lower body is decorated with a simple raised round profile design while the upper body has a continuous vine with hanging bunches of grapes. The goblets have a wonderful aged patina and one has stamped mark OSIRIS 501 ISIS while the other is marked OSIRIS 501.
Provenance: acquired from the British Art market.
Wear associated with age with some rubbed areas and slightly misshapen. They display well.
