Mid-Century Italian Murano Blown Glass Ruby Red Pedestal Coupes-Sherbets S/6

About the Item

From the Venetian region of Northern Italy, a set of six Murano glass coupes or sherbets, circa 1950-1960. Ruby Red bowls are fused to heavy colorless glass pedestal bases in a distinctive Italian mid-century design. Still showing the original Made in Italy foil labels. Gorgeous color, each coupe is individually formed of high quality blown glass. A ‘pontil mark’ shows on the underside of the base. This is made by the rod which is used by the artisans to hold the glass during shaping. Measures: 4 in. Height x 3.75 in. Diameter. Excellent, never used.
