Mid-Century Leather Case Tantalus with Two Green Glass Decanters, 1960s

About the Item

This stunning Mid-Century-Modern barware accessory, tantalus, or "cave a liqueur," was crafted in France in the 1960s. The hand-stitched brown leather case is ornate with a gilt metal buckle and a tall handle. Two green decanters are made of hand-blown glass with a square shape and ball stopper. Each decanter has a leather label reading "Whisky" and "Cognac." There is no visible maker's mark. The bar accessory is in good condition, with some bubbles trapped in the blown glass decanters, but they do not significantly affect the overall appearance. Measurements: Overall: 9.44 in wide (24 cm) x 5.13 in deep (13 cm) x 15.75 in high (40 cm) Each decanter is 3.75 in wide (9.5 cm) x 3.75 in deep (9.5 cm) x 11 in high (28 cm).
