About the Item
Large and rare tall ice bucket with fitted lid designed by Jens Quistgaard for the Dansk rare woods line. Introduced in 1961, the Rare Woods line was the finest designs and exotic woods . This ice bucket is crafted in Palisander . Base diameter is 8.5" tapers to a 7.5" diameter lid . Attached handle has fine dovetail detail in arced horizontal .
Dansk quote "Good design grows out of its materials, no matter how hard they are to come by. Designer Jens Quistgaard has gone to the jungles of Nicaragua, Brazil, British Honduras and East Africa for the world's rarest, most exotic woods. He has made the world's rarest and most exotic salad bowls, ice buckets, carving boards, trays, salt and pepper sets. " Each item being one of a kind every grain is unique to each piece . Finely carved with synthetic black liner. Signature stamp barely legible reads Palisander - Dansk Designs - Denmark - JHQ .
