Sterling Silver and 'Striker' Glass Decanter, Hallmarked 1900

About the Item

Fine hand blown glass decanter with silver mounted glass stopper and 'Whiskey' engraved to the body. Using the same type of glass as match strikers, for the decorative effect it provides. Hallmarked Edinburgh 1900 and maker's mark for renowned Scottish silversmiths and jewelers, Hamilton and Inches. Somewhat ironically, this spelling of whiskey with 'ey' is generally only used for Irish and American whiskey. Dimensions 34.5 cm/13½ inches (height) x 9 cm/3½ inches (diameter). Bentleys are Members of LAPADA, the London and Provincial Antique Dealers Association.
