Vintage Demley "Old Snifter" Cork Screw
About the Item
This bottle opener and corkscrew was made to poke fun at the Minnesota Republican congressman (1903- 1923) who introduced the National Prohibition Act of 1919. This is better known as the Volstead Act. This figure of Mr. Volstead has "Old Snifter" written on the base, a congressional ribbon on his lapel and a top hat. The corkscrew is in the rear and the bottle opener is his nose and mouth.
