Antique Charles II 1663 Sterling Silver Baby Porringer

An exceptional, fine and impressive, rare antique Charles II English sterling silver baby porringer; part of our collectable silverware collection. This exceptional antique Charles II sterling silver baby porringer has a circular rounded form onto a plain collet foot. The surface of this porringer bowl is plain and unembellished. This silver baby porringer is fitted with two impressive C scroll handles. The underside of this impressive 17th century piece is ornamented with the contemporary engraved initials 'E.W'. Note: After surviving the Great Fire of London the records at the London Assay office were destroyed by fire in 1681; their catalogues and documentation began again in 1697. Due to this unfortunate event we are unable to associate a maker to this porringer. Condition: This antique sterling silver baby porringer is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the porringer are all very clear; the hallmarks are deeply struck due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
