Edwardian English Sterling Silver Bowl Art Nouveau Style
About the Item
An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver Art Nouveau presentation bowl; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection.
This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver bowl has a circular rounded form onto a circular domed spreading foot.
The lobed body of this antique silver bowl is embellished with exceptional chased Art Nouveau inspired floriated decoration.
The upper portion of each convex lobed segment bears a plain rounded panel; these could be utilised as vacant cartouches.
The upper shaped rim is encompassed with a paralleling plain applied moulded border.
This impressive bowl is fitted with two cast sterling silver handles incorporating Art Nouveau style trifurcating foliated terminals in junction with the upper rim.
This exceptional bowl was crafted by the renowned Sheffield silversmiths James Dixon & Sons Ltd.
Condition:
This antique silver bowl is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
The piece has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.
The chased and cast decoration is all very sharp.
Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the bowl are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
