Barbini Murano Orange White Gold Flecks Italian Art Glass Centerpiece Fruit Bowl
About the Item
Beautiful and large vintage Murano hand blown orange over white, and gold flecks Italian art glass decorative bowl / centerpiece. Documented to Master glass artist and designer Alfredo Barbini, circa 1950-1960. Similar ones are published in his catalog. The color is a rich "persimmon" orange as described in the Barbini catalog. The bowl has 2 folded edges on the sides, creating a very organic shape. It is also profusely covered in gold leaf on both the orange part and inside white part. Would make a great display piece on any console table, dinning table or credenza. Use it as a catchall, or fruit bowl in the middle of a table. Mid-century era. Has 4 felt pads underneath to guard against wear. Measures 12 1/4” long x 8 3/4” wide x 4” high.
