French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Ormolu and Crystal Centerpiece
About the Item
A most elegant French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu and crystal centerpiece. The centerpiece is raised by a fine square base with a richly chased wrap around berried laurel band and intricately detailed scenes of charming cherubs playing. At the center is a striking young boy draped in a beautiful flowing garland seemingly holding up the bowl above. The impressive crystal bowl above displays a delicate scallop shaped rim and is decorated with beautiful foliate cut designs centering the lightly curved vase decorated in the same manner. All original gilt throughout.
