19th c. Porcelain Oyster Plate from Union, NY
About the Item
A 19th century oyster plate made by the Union Porcelain Works of Greenpoint, New York. Hand-painted with pale yellow ground and gilt accents. Nicely shaped and molded with six shallow wells for oysters and a scallop shell for sauce, surrounded by tiny seashells, mussels and seaweed in relief. Mark on the underside: eagle head with U.P.W. PAT. JAN. 4 1881. In good condition. No chips. Circa 1881-1889. 1.25"H x 8."W x 10.25"D. Shipping: $40.
