19th Century Majolica Lidded Sardine Box

About the Item

Majolica lidded sardine box made in England in the late 19th century. The lid is molded in high relief with fish on a bed of mustard colored seaweed. The box is hand painted cobalt blue decorated with green leaves with the inside finished with a turquoise glaze.
