Compote Vessels by Mugly, Nyc Handmade in Brooklyn

About the Item

Mugly NYC is a Brooklyn based ceramic studio specializing in richly textured sculptural clay and porcelain that evoke the poetics of the handmade. These Compote Vessels were handmade in 2022 with highly textured white sculpture clay and porcelain slip, the interior is glazed and can hold water. Each piece is unique. Dimensions may slightly vary due to handmade nature of work. About the creator: Ilona Golovina is the lead designer and artist behind Mugly NYC. Mugly’s handmade ceramics have been produced in Brooklyn since 2020 and emphasize the unpredictability of ceramics including self-foraged materials such as natural clays, minerals, and other techniques inspired by ancient pottery processes. The textures, flaws, and unique variations in these works transform the mundane into things both human and poetic. Golovinia’s work has been exhibited in New York City and Milan, and has been featured in AD Italy and Domino Magazine.
