Early Davenport Large Dish or Platter Ironstone Hand Painted Pattern 37, Ca 1810

About

This is an excellent desert dish or platter made by William Davenport and Co., Longport, Staffordshire Potteries, England, circa 1810. The dish is beautifully hand-painted in a bold Imari, Japan pattern No. 37 with rich gilded rim and detailed highlights within the pattern. The base of the dish carries the blue printed stone china Davenport mark, used by the factory between 1805 and 1820. It is in very good condition showing little signs of any use.
