French Wide Majolica Vegetable Serving Platter

About the Item

An attractive and unusual vintage serving platter, embellished with a central divider of beautifully crafted and hand-painted garden vegetables. A raised, embossed and painted green foliage border forms the rim of this elongated hexagonal plate, each leaf finely serrated and overlapping its neighbour. The two white-glazed compartments would lend themselves perfectly to the serving of a selection of colourful crudités with a separate vinaigrette. The platter is stamped 'Peint à la main' ('Hand-Painted') on its base. Please note that the platter does have some very minor chips.
