Unique handmade Danish modern ¨vase with brown glazing by German sculptor and designer Haico Nitzsche for Danish Søholm Pottery. Manufactured on the Danish island of Bornholm in the 1970s. Sculptural shape that reveals the designer's interest in sculptural art. Stamped and signed by artist on base. About the designer: Haico Nitzsche was trained in ceramics in his homeland, Germany before teaching at the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, India in 1968-1970. Nitzsche was a leading creator of ceramic art-forms in Denmark in the 1970s and was the technical leader and designer at Søholm from 1974-1982. His work still stands out as functional items with a strong sculptural essence, and at present Nitzsche uses his artistic efforts as a sculptor. He lives and works in Norway and his work has been exhibited all across Europe.

    Wonderful pair of hand made candle lamps by Joseph Simon made at Søholm Pottery in Denmark in the 1960s. The lamps are made from hand decorated glazed stoneware. They can be used standing or hung at the wall. Joseph Simon worked at Søholm for a short period in the late 1960s and is known for his whimsical animal figures.
