About the Item

Jules Agard was the technical director of Madoura in Vallauris. Beyond the technical aspect, it is a friendship and a beautiful bond that developed between the two men, as Dominique Sassi testifies in his book "In the shadow of Picasso". This hand painted ram head by one the masters of the 1950s Vallauris pottery reflects Agard's deep appreciation for the natural world and his ability to translate that appreciation into powerful and evocative art.
