Nodo Woven Wicker and Ceramic 21st Century Vase B/ Natural, by Bottega Intreccio

About the Item

Nodo That’s item is the result of Bottega Intreccio Lab experimentation as atelier research which is grounded within in the territory, with its different arts and crafts competences. Bottega Intreccio relies on the experience of local craft workshops and on synergies with neighboring production districts. The firm acts as a catalyst of knowledge and experimentation for new weavers, but also for combinations of different materials and processes. “A solid form that, thanks to the juxtaposition of ceramic and wicker becomes lighter and more open towards the top. Two traditional materials that compensate for each other, interpenetrating and becoming contemporary.” A series of wicker vases, woven to wrap the white ceramic base and to create a rhythm of solids and voids. The use of ceramic material allows the vase to contain water for the flowers, and to be easily cleaned after use. A woven wicker band completes the base, which extends in a soft, harmonious form. Use and maintenance All the items are made with raw materials and are guaranteed for interiors. If it is necessary, they can also be installed outdoors as long as they are sufficiently protected from atmospheric agents and not directly exposed to the sunlight or water, in spaces like verandas, gazebos, arcades or protected spaces. The raw materials used for weavings could be not extremely homogeneous due to different physical properties and the items could have dimensions a bit different from descriptions listed in this document. The colors could change for the same reasons. Those features are the demonstration of authenticity of each product that is unique and handcrafted in Italy by Mogliano’s masters. Woven wicker is extremely resistant over the years, if it is stored in a dry place and without excessive temperature changes, and it could also change color or nuances due to its sunlight exposure based-on nature. The weaving by the craftsman is performed with soft and wet material, and the material dries naturally with the passage of time losing its elasticity. For this reason, avoid excessive pressures, overloads of heavy weights or impacts. The bases or wooden parts are entirely in solid wood: with the aging they could change in size and present natural micro-cracks. Avoid direct and long exposure to the sun, completely avoid wetting. About the lamp usage, in normal condition the items don’t require special maintenance. Technicals About item technical details and bulbs specifications, please refer to the technical data sheets. Cleaning Use a soft cloth for cleaning. Don’t use any chemicals, acids, scourers or steel brushes. The base in natural wood must be cleaned and dusted using a soft cloth, even slightly damp. Immediately wipe again with a soft, dry cloth. For lamps cleaning, unplug the appliance from electric power before to proceed. Never immerse the device in water. Wicker is a natural material, so cleaning the wicker lampshade don’t get it wet nor use chemicals. Use compressed air to remove dust.

Shizé S “The centerpiece draw its inspiration from Nature. The irregular shape of Shizè comes from the stones found in rivers.” Like a big rock sitting on furnishings in the home, this container has a soft, organic form. And it plays with the contrast between the ample size of the woven wicker part and the leather-clad plate that rests on the rim of the vessel. Complex in the making due to the asymmetrical form, and for the so called “passatemorte”, passages where the strand does not complete its circuit.
