A Palissy Ware Majolica Jardinière, modelled as a rectangular rustic wooden trough with simulated wooden staves and branches, with ferns and green-glazed foliage, bullrushes, and toadstools on a mossy rockwork base, surmounted by a bird's nest of extruded clay and naturalistically glazed, and three white-speckled eggs, a naturalistically molded and glazed snake ready to devour them, School of Paris, ca. 1880.
