Samson Paris Chelsea Style Exotic Birds Painted Cabinet Plate
About the Item
A stylish and well decorated antique French pottery plated made by Edmé Samson of Paris and copied from an 18th century Chelsea Porcelain design. The plate dating from circa 1890 has a raised and relied moulded rim and is hand painted with three exotic style birds perched on branches in a rocky landscape. The plate is painted in bright colored glazes with gilding applied around the rim and has a Chelsea gold anchor mark applied to the base.
