- Condition:Charles Sucsan was part of an important modernist artistic movement that marked the decorative arts in Quebec , born in France of Hungarian descent, he studied drawing,painting, sculpture and ceramics in Paris . As a young artist in post war Paris he was inspired by such great artists as Pablo Picasso with whom he met , and which inspired him greatly . He moved to Montreal in 1952 and started a studio where he elaborated a new enamelling technic on ceramic that permitted him to produce large scale wall murals for public buildings such as Habitat 67, the Sherbrooke University Hospital and many others. His work can be seen in many private and corporate and museum collections including Quebec's National Museum Of Fine Arts.
