The ceramic designer Ahryun Lee was born in Seoul, South Korea in 1989 and lives and works in Munich, Germany. She graduated from the Royal College of Art, London in 2016, and studied design and ceramics at the National University in Seoul.
Ahryun explores numerous creative possibilities by embracing a global perspective between East and West. Her practice has developed in varied ways based on using a combination of professional skills alongside fundamental knowledge of materials. Her work is visually material-driven and highly skillful, which contains both aspects between tradition and contemporary.
To contemplate the area between function and non-function, Lee’s objective is to create intriguing objects which break down the boundaries between Craft, Design, and Art.
Lee is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards and her work is represented in several international public collections.

Turi Heisselberg Pedersen has, all through her career, strived to develop the vessel as abstract form and as an independent sculptural object. As Turi notes “working in clay is to me connected with many underlying cultural bound references, but also strongly connected to nature. The very process of building in clay is a process from nature to culture. We have an inherent understanding of beauty and design evolved in thousands of years of visual impressions from our cultural history, but especially also from nature. In this context, I am aiming to create a visual and emotional reading of the objects, working with shape, rhythm, volume, movement, and texture”. In the interplay between culture and nature, Turi’s works are inspired by geological structures and crystal formations, but also by architecture, the edged rendering of a computer drawing or folded paper shapes. Most of her faceted shapes seem to have a seed of coincidence or unplanned development, reminding one of crystal formations growing in irregular clusters.?
