Mid-century Modern Piero Fornasetti Ceramic Appetizer Fish Kebab Dishes and Tray

Piero Fornasetti Ceramic Appetizer Fish Kebab Dishes and Serving Tray, 1960s There are four ceramic deep rectangular dishes placed in a long rectangular gold metal tray with handles at each end. The trays together display a single large fish kebab on a skewer with each dish showing one part of the kebab. The kebab holds two different fish, shrimp, lemon slices, olives, egg slices, herbs and pickles. Dimensions: 19 5/8 inches wide x 5 7/8 inches wide x 1 1/4 inches high; Individual dishes: 5 5/8 inches wide x 1 1/4 inches. Mark: Fornasetti hand and paint brush with FORNASETTI. MILANO/ MADE IN ITALY in black and white. A small C imposed on an L in script. Reference: Fornasetti: The Complete Universe, Barnaba Fornasetti, Page 594-5, #101, for illustration of shape and tray. It is mentioned that the appetizer bowls or side dishes were sold with the tray which was gold anodized aluminum which could be shaped for four, six, eight or twelve plates.
