This remarkably beautiful Set of Twelve Hand-Painted Lenox Porcelain Plates signed William Morley Depicting Fish originates from the United States, Circa 1900. Features a gilt border with precise natural and geometric repeating motifs circumscribing the edge of the plates, with unique hand-painted scenes depicting fish in various environments in the center of each piece. The color pallete is sophisticated and subtle, with incredible attention to detail and precision in overlapping various forms creating depth and narrative within each unique scene. The species of fish is noted on the verso in red ceramic, unique to each plate, which also bears the Lenox Maker's Mark. These plates are signed on the front surface "William Morley". Sure to be a winning addition to those with a love of the best of early 20th Century Porcelain and aquatic themes, these plates will style beautifully with a wide array of interiors and settings, from Classical to Mid-Century and Contemporary Interiors.
