Three Sarreguemines Napoleon side plates

About the Item

These three Sarreguemines side plates are decorated with different transfer printed scenes of Napoleon's battles, in black, to the centre, within an intricate aqua coloured printed border. Beneath each scene is the individual caption in French. They were once part of a larger set, possibly a set of twelve, as the scenes are numbered 5, 6 and 10. The diameter is 195 mm (7.75 inches). There is a very small chip to the rear of the rim on one plate, but it is not visible from the front. They would date from around 1900.
