18th Century Antique Amber Wine Roemer Glass

About the Item

This 18th-century amber wine glass embodies the elegance and craftsmanship of the era. Its exquisite design features an ovoid bowl, delicately balanced atop an open, hollow stem. This unique stem design served a practical purpose, allowing sediment to gracefully fall to the base of the stem, ensuring a clearer pour. The stem is further adorned with applied raspberry prunts, adding a touch of whimsy and texture to the piece. The glass rests on a conical coiled foot, adding stability and a sense of groundedness to its slender form. The foot is finished with a snapped pontil, a mark of the glassblower's skill and technique. This wine glass not only showcases the beauty of 18th-century glassware but also reflects the ingenuity and attention to detail of the artisans of that time.
