About the Item

Heading : Engraved Bohemian covered goblet with colour twist stem Date : 1710-1730 Origin : Bohemia. probably the Liberec region, Krkonose Mountains Bowl : Cover with red twist within the slice cut finial and two rows of polished printies edged with cut and engraved leaves. Bowl itself slice cut decorated with engraved arches, swags and radial cut flowers Stem : Annular collar with two facet cut inverted baluster knops with red colour twist Foot : Low conical Type : Lead free Size : 225.2cm height to top of finial, 7.5cm diameter bowl, 9.6cm diameter foot Condition : Very good, two slither chips in the leading edges of the cuts on the finial. One is 5mm c 2mm , the second can be felt but is too small to measure Restoration : None Weight : 599 grams The cover is a replacement. The decoration on the cover will invariably ‘follow through’, be compatible with that on the bowl. This is a good and well fitting replacement and is contemporary and from the same region/glasshouse
