Georgian Wine Glass Bristol Green Bell Bowl Engraved Acorns, English, circa 1815
About the Item
This is an excellent example of an early 19th century, English, hand blown, Bristol green wine drinking glass, with an engraved bowl of acorns and oak leaves. which we date to the George 111rd Regency period, circa 1815.
This glass has an elegant bell shaped bowl over a solid stem, which sits on a plain foot. The fine hand engraving of acorns and oak leaves makes this glass special. The snapped-off pontil mark to the base, which evidences the hand blowing process, has been mainly ground down
