Sergio Asti Blown Glass "Break" Multicolored Carafe for VeArt, 1975

About

A rare and stunning multicolored carafe designed by Sergio Asti for Murano glassworks VeArt in 1975. The intensely-colored "Break" carafe shifts from greens and blues at its base to orange at its top. The smooth rounded exterior is contrasted by the subtly textured grip and base, providing a more secure hold and pleasurable feel to the touch. A beautiful work that demonstrates Asti's mastery with design objects and the VeArt artisans' skill in glasswork. References: Domus No. 549 August 1975 pg. 682-683 Ottagono No. 42 September 1976 pg. 114.
