This is a matched pair of vintage coffee pots. An English, silver plated chocolate heating jug by Mappin & Webb, circa 1940. Superb 2 pint specimens, as good to use today as 80 years ago Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order 'Prince's Plate, with triple deposit of silver presents a quality sheen Hexagonal shaped ebony handles keep ones hands from the heat Flip top lid with small finial - diamond shaped steam holes to one lid Tall, steeply raked spout aids pouring of hot drinks Maker's mark to base for Mappin & Webb, London & Sheffield Further marked with serial number W10162 This is a fascinating pair of vintage coffee pots, with wonderful winter time appeal. Ideal for heating up a hot chocolate or coffee and milk around an open fire. Delivered polished and ready to enjoy.     Elaborate figural Egyptian Revival Victorian biscuit jar made by Mappin & Webb during the 19th century. This highly stylized piece features a winged sphinx with an Egyptian head piece finial. The piece is heavily engraved and has 4 four plaques that can be personalized. The bottom edge interior and outer edge is beaded and it stands on four stylized claw feet. The bottom is stamped with an early Mappin & Webb hallmark along with W 16 and some etched handwritten numbers as well. A truly spectacular piece that would be a wonderful addition to your home.
