Signed Georges Jouve & Mathieu Matégot "Patte d'Ours" Red Ceramic Ashtray 1951
By Georges Jouve, Mathieu Matégot
Located in Geneva, CH
Superb and rare "Patte d'Ours" or "Bear's Paw" cherry red enameled ceramic ashtray with black iron and rattan Stand, made by famous french ceramist Georges Jouve and french designer Mathieu Matégot, France 1951 Mint condition, ceramic signed by Jouve underneath. In 1954, Matégot and Jouve once again pooled their talents, in the project involving one of the very first organic restaurants in Paris, La Saladière, on Avenue des Ternes. For these premises Jouve made vertical, three-part partitions in black and white enamel, as well as ceramic table tops...
