Antique Copeland Spode Pottery Pitcher with Golfing Scenes

About the Item

This antique pitcher was made by the well known Copeland Spode factory of England in approximately 1890 in the period Late Victorian style. This small pictcher is composed of pottery with a dark green ground and a series of golfing vignettes done in contrasting cream glaze. The sides of the rim are decorated with tall grasses and the top and handle are glazed in a mocha brown. The pitcher is clearly hallmarked on the bottom with a stamped signature for Copeland Spode with impressed model numbers.
