Antique Spanish Silver Jug and Matching Cups

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Spanish silver jug with matching cups; an addition to our range of drinks related silverware This exceptional 18th century Spanish silver set consists of a jug and four matching cups. Each piece of this silver jug and cup set has a bell-shaped form onto a pedestal foot. The body of each piece has a subtly planished finish and is embellished with a fine and impressive applied strapwork style design to the lower portion, accented with paralleling border in conjunction with the body. The upper portion of each piece is encompassed with engraved decorated borders, accented with prism style applied designs to the broadest band, flanked with applied girdles in addition to an applied moulded border to the rim. This antique jug is fitted with a fine and impressive cast silver spout, ornamented with an impressive mask design to the upper portion. The cups and jug are each fitted with a cast and applied angular handle. Such early examples of Spanish silverware are becoming increasingly difficult to locate. Condition This early 18th century Spanish silver jug and cup set is an exceptional gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent condition. The hallmarks struck to the surface of each item are clear in keeping with age. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of vintage silverware.     An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Danish silver water/cordial jug made in the Art Nouveau style; an addition to our range of collectable silverware. This exceptional antique Danish silver jug has a circular rounded form onto a circular spreading foot, all in the Art Nouveau style. The surface of this antique water jug has a subtle planished finish. This impressive piece is fitted with a C-shaped handle, with a bifurcating upper portion and the original carved painted wood hand piece. The spout is embellished with a vase shaped design to the nadir. The underside of the Art Nouveau jug bears the engraved initials 'A.N' and date '1927', in addition to the hallmarks.     An exceptional, fine and impressive, large vintage Italian silver wine ewer and presentation plate, part of our wine and drinks related silverware collection. This exceptional and large antique Italian silver ewer has a rounded ovoid shaped form onto a domed circular foot, in a Classic Victorian style. The waisted neck is encircled with an impressive alternating engraved leaf designs accented with scrolling borders and cast and applied leaf and bead designs. The large rounded body is embellished with a continuation of engraved and applied ornamentation emanating from the upper and lower portions, including a matte background to each panel. The upper rim of the jug is encompassed with an applied moulded border. This exceptional example of Italian silverware is fitted with an impressive cast 800 standard silver leaf decorated handle accented with scrolling leaf ornamentation to the upper opposing scroll and lower terminals.     An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Italian silver sterling jug. This exceptional antique Italian sterling silver jug has an oval paneled, flared form onto a circular domed foot. The surface of this antique jug is plain and unembellished, with a matte, subtly planished finish in keeping with the patination of a piece from this period. This impressive piece is fitted with an exceptional cast sterling silver scrolling handle, accented with a leaf design emanating from the thumbpiece, this leaf ornamentation comprises the upper terminal. The circular foot is encircled with a band of embossed bead decoration. This impressive antique silver jug has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as sterling standard silver (925/1000). Patination or Patina is a subtle coloration or tarnish which forms on the surface of some metals, produced by oxidation or other chemical processes. A good patina proffers an aesthetically pleasing look. Condition This antique silver jug is a very good gauge of silver and exceptional quality for its type.
