Collection of Norwegian Peg Tankards

About the Item

Fine collection of Norwegian peg tankards, circa 1770-1820, most with lion carved handles, all but one fashioned from burl birch wood and all possessing good rich color. The largest is unusual not just for the scale, but additionally for the Nordic folk carving around the body. Treen, Scandinavian Folk Art.
