Irene Zevon Modern Art Ceramic Bird Pitcher 1956

About the Item

Irene Zevon (American, 1918-2006) modern art ceramic pottery pitcher jug with bird-like face and handle, signed "Zevon" and dated 1956 on bottom. 6" H x 8.5" Diameter. Note: Nahum Tschacbasov and Irene Zevon were residents of New York City's famed Chelsea Hotel. Tschacbasov was a member of the Expressionist Art group "The Ten" alongside Mark Rothko. He taught at the Art Students League and married Zevon, a former student of his. All works by both artists in this sale were acquired from the estate of Tschacbasov's son. Dealer: S138XX
