Large Arita Blue & White Charger

About the Item

This is a very large Arita blue & white charger hand-painted in the prunus pattern. The charger dates to the early or mid-20th century and is in overall very good to excellent condition. There is some patina to the underside lip which is a good indication of age. This charger would incorporate beautifully into any blue and white themed space and would integrate well with Chinese blue and white porcelain. **In Japanese culture, the plum blossom symbolizes good fortune, perseverance and hope and the arrival of an early spring.
