Very Large Hand Built Ceramic Serving or Fruit Bowl in Creamy White
About the Item
Rustic yet elegant, hand built ceramic serving bowl. Its handmade quality and sculptural reference makes it a beautiful piece for the table at all times. At over 12 inches in diameter it makes a strong statement, not to be mistaken with something production-made. Picture bright red apples or bunches of grapes. Inviting and deeply personal.
This piece was made with dark red clay that fires dark brown. The sides were hand carved and a creamy white glaze was added for the second firing. The touch of the artist and her process is visible throughout the piece.

Helena Starcevic Ceramics
Helena Starcevic Ceramics produces work that straddles the line between fine and decorative art. Each piece is one of a kind, hand-built entirely by the artist in her New York studio. Taking inspiration from the natural world, Ms. Starcevic's work includes references to the stark beauty of the desert, prehistoric cave paintings, and the human form (within and without). Everything is filtered through Ms. Starcevic’s own singular aesthetic, at once quiet yet strong, meditative, and beautiful. Pieces are made in different clays and finishes, and at different scales. Groupings are available. Helena Starcevic’s ceramic pieces are held in private collections across the US and Europe. She has held numerous residencies including one at the Museum of Art and Design in New York City.
