1880 Meiji Japanese Cast Iron Nambu Tekki Kettle

About the Item

Adorned with a Textured Surface and a Gracefully Arched Handle, This Japanese Teapot Served the Purpose of Boiling Water for Customary Tea Ceremonies. Identified as a Tetsubin, Its Cast-Iron Composition is Believed to Enhance Water Quality, Resulting in a Mellow and Sweet Tea Flavor. Crafted Through the Pouring of Iron into Clay or Sand Molds, the Kettle Boasts a Rustic Texture that Beautifully Contrasts its Distinctive Angular Shape.
