Freaklab Vase Made Entirely by Hand in Ceramic, Vintage Green Color

About the Item

This Freaklab Eye Vase is made entirely by hand with the lathe and modeling technique. Starting from the clay, the piece is dried and baked in the oven at 900. The next step involves the decoration with glazes, colors, and crystalline for ceramics, non-toxic, and a new firing at 930.Each piece must be ordered. And each piece, even if reproducible being handmade, is unique with its own expressiveness. And it has the characteristics of a handmade object that is its imperfections. You have the possibility to customize the object in size and in various colors. It can be used as a flower or plant holder or simply as a sculpture. It has a cylindrical shape but with a very 'freak' contemporary style where the various eyes seem to merge with the beard of this man who looks like a Greek God.

  • Freaklab Trio Palombari Made Entirely by Hand in Ceramic
    By Freaklab
    Located in Modica, RG
The Palombari by Freaklab fully represent the meaning of his art and continuous research and the technique of majolica and terracotta. The trio of Palombari are respectively 35cm, 45cm and 50cm tall. Divers live in the submerged world, from what? from anything that does not give space to their desires, projects and rights. Their desire for freedom is evident from the folded bars. These Men and Women want to escape and have their say by expressing the freedom of their thoughts in their dreams. Birds are a very strong symbol of freedom and being 'under water' or in any other place where they don't feel comfortable, they want to find their dimension and their habitat. The artist chose the name Freaklab because he has always created works tending towards the monstrous, the different, enriched by characterizing, exaggerated and disturbing elements, which make it inappropriately pleasant for contemplative and attentive observation. From my island...

  • Unique Green Ceramic Vase by Turi Heisselberg Pedersen
    By Turi Heisselberg Pedersen
    Located in New York, NY
Organic Vase, 2015, (Ceramic, C. 12.1 in. h x 7.5 in. d, Object No.: 3389). Turi Heisselberg Pedersen has, all through her career, strived to develop the vessel as abstract form and as an independent sculptural object. As Turi notes “working in clay is to me connected with many underlying cultural bound references, but also strongly connected to nature. The very process of building in clay is a process from nature to culture. We have an inherent understanding of beauty and design evolved in thousands of years of visual impressions from our cultural history, but especially also from nature. In this context, I am aiming to create a visual and emotional reading of the objects, working with shape, rhythm, volume, movement, and texture”. In the interplay between culture and nature, Turi’s works are inspired by geological structures and crystal formations, but also by architecture, the edged rendering of a computer drawing or folded paper shapes. Most of her faceted shapes seem to have a seed of coincidence or unplanned development, reminding one of crystal formations growing in irregular clusters.? Heisselberg Pedersen’s sculptures are hand-modeled from stoneware and glazed with slip-glazes, which gives the works a stone-like, dry surface with a rich texture. Some of Turi’s designs...
