William Greatbatch was an English potter who lived from 1735 to 1813. He was born in Fenton, Staffordshire, and worked in the pottery industry for most of his life. He is particularly known for his work as a modeler, and his designs were highly sought after during his lifetime.
Greatbatch's work was highly prized by his contemporaries, and he worked for many of the leading potteries of his time, including Wedgwood, Spode, and Adams. He is also known for his contributions to the development of new ceramic materials, particularly the production of creamware, which was a type of refined earthenware that became very popular in the late 18th century.
