Two-Handled Jug, Fabulous, Unique Mid-Century Sculptural Piece by Gambone

About the Item

Both modern sculpture and practical object, this stunning Mid-Century jug with a curving basket handle and a knob opposite the spout was created by one of the era's greatest artists, Guido Gambone. The artist's work was astonishingly modern, and yet the simple, spherical form and lion's head on the spout suggest old, primitive influences. Gorgeously glazed in soft yellow and warm grey, the vase displays the crystalline, roughly-textured glazes and smudged lines that are characteristic of the artist's best work. The piece is signed on the bottom.
