Vintage Small Cross-Legged Pre-Columbian Style Terra Cotta Statue of Mesoamerican God Xochipilli or "Prince of Flowers" Xochipilli or "Prince of Flowers" was honored by the Aztecs and perhaps even by civilizations earlier as a youthful yet mischievous god of celebration, summer, and flowers. His statues are often adorned with flowers and butterflies. This hollow statue is constructed from a red clay. Designs were scored onto the work with a sharp object. It has been painted minimally with a darker red pigment. Circa Mid 20th Century Dimensions: H 8.5” W 5.5” D 7.5”
