Art Deco German Silver Salver, Circa 1940
About the Item
A fine and impressive vintage German silver salver in the Art Deco style, an addition to our continental silver collection.
This fine vintage German silver salver has an oval paneled form.
The surface of the silver salver is plain and unembellished.
The raised rounded Art Deco style panelled border is ornamented with an applied reed decorated rim.
The hallmarks struck to the underside of this salver include:
Maker's mark: Icon for M. H. Wilkens & Söhne (strong probability)
Silver quality/purity mark: .800 (800/1000)
National mark: Crescent moon and crown
Condition
This vintage salver is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition. The salver has been professionally polished. The German hallmarks struck to the underside of the salver are very clear.
