Antique Dutch Repousse Silver and Etched Crystal Candy Dishes, Pair

About the Item

Pair of etched crystal candy dishes decorated with a Dutch scene that includes a boat, windmill, house, trees, and birds. The centre has a glass stem that is covered with repousse silver that continues the Dutch theme with people dressed in traditional garb. At the top is an area that could be used to add a monogram. Glass rim extends 1.12" from base.

    This is an exquisite and rare antique pair of English silver plated on copper entree dishes stamped Walker & Hall Sheffield Plate Old Style, and dated Circa 1860. The dishes are of rectangular shaped form with gaddrooned and acanthus leaf borders with detachable handles. In excellent condition, these wonderful entree dishes are ready to grace your dining table. A truly exquisite pair that would make a fine addition to any antique collection.     An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Dutch silver and agate handled server; an addition to our diverse silverware collection. This impressive antique Dutch silver server has an oval shaped blade. The anterior face of the blade is embellished with impressive finely pierced diaper pattern decoration encompassed with a paralleling bright cut engraved scrolling leaf decorated border. The blade is further ornamented with a bright cut engraved scalloped border to the rim blending to a plain border to the incurve. The reverse of the blade is plain and unembellished. This exceptional example of antique silverware retains the original and exceptional faceted agate handle. The ferrule and lower portion of the stem are ornamented with an engraved simplified lozenge design accented with a trellis pattern. The hallmarks struck to this impressive server include: Maker's mark: TGZ3 Silver quality / purity mark: Lion Passant mark .833 (833/1000) Date letter: Z (1884) Duty mark: Minerva head Condition This antique server is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
