Stunning English sterling silver two-part table sugar caster muffineer of cylindrical form ending on a circular spreading base. The entire embossed with flowers leaves and scrolls, with elements of Art Nouveau decoration. The original firm fitting screw mechanism cap with pierced star shapes and C scroll detail. Mark of HW&Co. for Horace Woodward London Silversmiths. Assayed in London, 1900. Condition: Superb, nice clear silver markings. Height: an impressive 5.75" (14.5cm). Diameter: 2.25" (5.75cm) Weight: 4.3 ozs. (122 grams). Location: Dublin City, Ireland.     A fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver sugar caster, an addition to our silver teaware collection. This fine antique Edwardian sterling silver sugar caster has a baluster form onto a circular domed spreading foot. The upper and lower portions of this piece are embellished with embossed and chased bead and scroll decoration accenting concave bordered, fluted decoration all in a spiral design. The sugar caster retains the original hallmarked screw fit cover, embellished with pierced decoration incorporating chased and embossed bead and scroll decoration, the screw fit attachment indicates the fine quality of this piece. The cover is further ornamented with a gadroon decorated border to the rim and is surmounted by a fine and impressive scroll decorated shaped baluster style finial.
