The spoon has a plain rounded bowl and the fork has six tines. The anterior surface of each silver server is embellished with the contemporary engraved crest of an eagle rising, in its beak an escutcheon pendent by a ribbon, thereon a hank of cotton. The crest is encompassed with a garter bearing the motto 'Multa tuli fecique' - I have borne and done many things*.
