Pair Sheffield England Silver Plated Pierced Compotes Lion & Swan Mounts C. 1862
About the Item
English, circa 1862.
A pair of good quality antique Sheffield made silverplate pedestal baskets. Each basket has a pierced frame, lion head mounts to front and verso and flanked by swan motif handles to either side. A strange and unique series of chains run across the exterior of each piece. Marked to underside of foot and interior of bowl with registry mark.
